• We had a bunch of people recently retire at work. I like this quote from a retirement email from one of them:

  Today is my last day of a career spanning over 40 years, from punch cards to AI slop.

• I had thought about a Planet MVS YouTube channel for the goofy AI generated videos I made but that might drive too much traffic to this website and defeat removing the videos that caused the bandwidth problem.

• Planetmvs.com exceeded it's bandwidth quota in October. I see that highest files by KBytes transferred were the AI generated videos. I removed them from the site. I may try to put them up on YouTube.

• I created a new page of AI generated videos. These are not technical and are in the humor section.
• ChatGPT 5 was released on August 7 and I tried it on my AI and mainframe Assembler - Reentrant prompt and it was slightly better than ChatGPT 4o.
• At work we installed a spiffy new IBM z17. The z17 has new instructions of course. Here is a link to the z17 POPS PDF.

Aloha! I started reworking the web site after I got back from my first trip to Hawai'i (my US state number 50!).

• A lot of the changes were eye candy where I used AI (ChatGPT) to create images. This was my first use of AI.
• A practical use of AI was a modest look into how well AI knows mainframe Assembler.
• The Rexx Anywhere! page has some new environment results and new links in the Other links section:

• See the new Rexx book links there for Rexx Programmer's Reference, 2nd Edition (2025)
• The Green Card page now has complete scans of many green cards.
• The Flowerbox page had some cleanup and I added a contribution.
• I also generated some new bad humor.
• In addition, I've tweaked some pages. I tried to address non-working links on a number of pages.
• I moved more pages over to the Hopelessly Outdated page: MVSintosh, Hex and Peeves.
